355nm Laser Beam Expander, High Power Magnification Beam Expanders
Overview: Laser Beam Expander are optical devices which increases the diameter of the input beam to produce a larger output, but they not only increase the diameter of a collimated laser beam, they also decrease beam divergence. Used with collimated light, they have important applications in remote sensing, interferometry, and laser scanning.
A beam expander consists of two lenses. First, the beam is diverged with a short focal length lens and then the diverging beam is re-collimated with a larger beam waist and smaller divergence. The lenses are positioned like in an inverted telescope. The light enters in the eyepiece lens and emerges from the objective lens.
These fixed-magnification laser beam expanders are offered with optics that have either narrowband or broadband AR coatings besides 355nm.
